They say June is Bustin Out All Over. But not before we take care of some unfinished jazz business in May!
The coming month will be spiced by a visit to Twin River in Lincoln, R.I. by blues guitarist extraordinaire Duke Robillard, and there’ll be plenty of tasty traditional and contemporary performances from Leah Souza, Jimmy Mazzy and the Marcus Monteiro Quartet, to name a few!
The Dixie Diehards Jazz Band plans to kick up its heels with old time New Orleans Jazz music at a jazz brunch 11:30-1:30 p.m. Mother’s Day, May 11 at the Taunton Holiday Inn, plus a more intimate show the following week on May 15 at Ma Glockner’s Restaurant, 151 Maple St., Bellingham, from 7-10 p.m. Bring your dancin’ shoes!
Sunday Night Jazz at Steve’s Backstage Pass, 15 School St., Taunton, Ma will be featuring shows with Third Shift on May 11, Elm Street Jazz, May 18, and Tema Jazz on May 25. Those shows are 7-9 p.m. Admissions range from $6-10. Call 508-824-3436 or visit http://www.stevesbackstagepass.com/.
